There was a lot of speculation that the release of Grand Theft Auto IV (GTAIV) would hurt the ticket sales of the first summer blockbuster, Iron Man. At least in the “movie industry,” which needed to find some excuse for why other movies had flopped near big video game release dates.

Reviews of any form of media: television, film, music, books, video games, etc. are rarely a consensus. Look at Rotten Tomatoes’ best of 2007. The NYTimes has posted a visual representation of movie returns for every major motion picture release for the past 20 years. It’s really awesome to see how movies did over time and what they were up against.

Trekkies rejoice, The Star Trek Teaser Trailer is here.
Overall, I think it’s a great teaser, it does exactly what a successful trailer should, get your attention. I’m looking forward to this version Trek, mainly because I think J.J. Abrams can reinvent the franchise, much in the same way Christopher Nolan did with Batman Begins. [...]
